BalanceWear®
BalanceWear® is a vest for patients with balance issues, developed by Cindy Gibson Horn, a neurological physiotherapist from the United States. Cindy Gibson-Horn has, during the past 15 years, developed this vest during her daily work with neurological patients in California.
The BalanceWear® vest, utilizing a discrete weight system, delivers sensoric information to the nervous system, and thereby effects the ability to maintain balance. Flexible weights are fitted to the vest, with a velcro system. The vest is light and individually fitted.

TESTIMONIALS
"The result is that I can move all over without thinking about how far I fall in the next second. I can also take public transport alone without help, I have NEVER been able to do that before.
The BalanceWear® also makes sure that I can always escape my walker when I walk outside. I have always gone without a rollator indoors. I go, stand and sit as straight as I have never done before. It happens automatically and without getting out of position at any time unless I want it."

"We are not in the doubt that many patients can benefit greatly from the BalanceWear® and we want to help spread its existence."

"In November 2016, we first heard of the BalanceWear®. It made us so interested in the product that we wanted to test it. It was a happy experience. The vest could straighten Niels Christian significantly up. He got a lot of energy from wearing the vest. He could walk faster, went straighter, could better walk on stairs, obstacle walk where multiple senses are affected at once - yes, faster at every point.
His general condition became much better with the vest, so good that we chose to go to a training session in Barcelona in May 2017 for Parkinson patients with Swingtime v. Elisabeth Dalsgaard. Here there were 2-3 times 1.5 hours of training every day, with music, dance and singing. Our lives were suddenly changed, we could dance together, which we have not done for 10 years.
Niels Christian tried when it got hot to take the vest off during a workout. It took 30 min, then he chose to take it back on. He would rather dance with the heat, instead of not being able to dance. He even managed to train for 20 running strikes. We got the pleasure of music, dancing and singing again. It was just such a fantastic experience. The quality of our life has risen a lot since we have bought the BalanceWear®."

"After wearing BalanceWear®, I now dare to bear my grandchild. I'm less dizzy, my speech has improved and I can even vacuum." Thomas's wife says; "I've got my husband back, now he can also help me at home."

"Working with BalanceWear® has given me a lot. Working with chronically patients who come with the hope that you can make a significant difference to your quality of life, fitness and hope for a better future is amazing and unique. We actually do that already with our patients. But this is different. Like adding 100%, when you see how big a difference this vest can do. Not just for the person in front of you, who gets the vest, but also for the family associated with this person. It's fantastic when you see how touched their relatives become.
For some patients, you are allowed to fulfill dreams that you did not even think were possible. For others, the dreams are destroyed when the vest does not meet the hope. But also this task, to comfort, pleases me. Becoming a BalanceWear® therapist has made me a better physiotherapist.“
